Practice History

Dermatology, Inc. was founded in 1968 by Dr. William B. “Joe” Moores (d. 2009.) Dr. Moores was a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He not only founded Dermatology, Inc, but also Mid-America Pathology Services (MAPS) in 1997. 

Dr. Moores was a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine in 1963. A Professor of Clinical and Laboratory Medicine and the head of Dermatopathology at the Indiana School of Medicine. Dr. Moores received numerous awards and honors throughout his career.

As a physician, mentor and friend, Dr. Moores was dedicated to the practice of medicine and teaching dermatology and dermatopathology. He gave generously, both monetarily and of his time, to the IU School of Medicine, various philanthropic causes, and a charity medical clinic.  

His mission and dedication will be carried forward by those he touched and by the continued success of Dermatology, Inc. and Mid-America Pathology Services.
