Microneedling
Want to brighten your skin?
Microneedling is one of our most popular cosmetic dermatology procedures for improving skin health and looking like the best version of yourself.
Microneedling FAQ
Microneedling—also known as collagen induction therapy and skin needling—helps your skin rejuvenate itself from the inside out. Here is some basic information that you should know about microneedling before scheduling your first treatment.
What is microneedling good for?
Microneedling can be used to treat skin imperfections and other conditions, including:
Wrinkles and fine lines (including forehead lines and crow’s feet)
Skin texture / firmness
Acne scars
Surgical scars
Burns and sun damage
Large pores / pore size
Uneven skin tone
Stretch marks / striae
Microneedling works on all skin types and typically is more affordable than similar laser treatments.
Does microneedling hurt? What does microneedling feel like?
We apply a numbing cream to your face before the procedure to desensitize your skin. You’ll feel a slight pricking and vibrating during the procedure as we move the microneedling device across the area you’re having treated.
There’s minimal downtime—just two to four days. In fact, for sessions in the morning, most patients return to work later that same day. It will feel a lot like you have a mild sunburn for two to four days, and your skin will continue to improve noticeably over the next few weeks.
What is microneedling with PRP? Is microneedling with PRP better?
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, supercharges your microneedling treatment.
When you get microneedling with PRP, we draw a sample of your blood then use a centrifuge to separate its plasma.
Your plasma—with its high concentration of growth factors —is then reinjected into your skin as part of your treatment to enhance your results and stimulate faster healing.
How do you know if microneedling is right for you?
Have questions? Unsure if microneedling will help you get the look you want? The most important decision you’ll make when considering microneedling is choosing a provider. For the best results, choose an experienced specialist with a solid understanding of this skin treatment.
